SNC's Digital Grid™ Enables Joint Service Battle Network at Valiant Shield Exercise

HERNDON, Va. (July 15, 2024) – SNC's Digital Grid solution recently enabled a significant breakthrough in the Joint Service Battle Network during the Valiant Shield exercise in the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) area of responsibility, demonstrating a Hybrid Cloud model using colorless transport. During the exercise, SNC successfully established the MANET-Cloud High Mobility Radio’s (MCHMR) capabilities, elevating and transmitting data to all classification levels, including Impact Levels (IL) 2, 5, 6 and at the edge. Leveraging SNC TRAX® software at the core of its Digital Grid solution, SNC successfully transmitted data in less than one second while processing thousands of messages.

SNC’s Digital Grid creates the unique ability to route sensor and radar data to existing command and control (C2) battle management systems via software-defined and virtual wide area network smart routing on available backhauls. As a theater-wide capability, it provides the critical multi-cloud resiliency required for the mission owner. The cloud-based solution also allows users on IL5 networks to push mission-critical data up through a cross-domain solution (CDS) to IL6 in under one second, eliminating the need for on-site CDS hardware. SNC TRAX then efficiently routes the data to its intended destinations on IL6, such as the TAK ecosystem and Maven Smart System.

“SNC's Digital Grid solution has the potential to revolutionize the way warfighters operate, enabling them to operate in a connected or disconnected state without losing functionality, and automatically rejoining when returning from a disconnected state,” said Tom Fusco, vice president of Digital Grid business development. “The solution is designed to provide a common operational picture to enable awareness throughout the enterprise, making it easier for warfighters to make critical decisions in real-time.”

SNC is the first vendor to work with Microsoft to move C2 data from IL2 to IL5 to IL6 in Azure Data Transfer. The company plans to integrate additional SNC products like Vindler™, SNC Cerberus™, Wormhole and RUG/Hydrato deliver a full Battlefield 360 experience.
