PRESS RELEASE

SNC Leads Industry with DOD’s CMMC Level 2 Certification

SPARKS, Nev. (Dec. 16, 2024) – SNC, the global aerospace and national security company, today announced that it has achieved Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) 2.0 Level 2 certification. This certification, a result of SNC’s perfect assessment score in December 2023, means that SNC is one of only a few companies that are immediately compliant with the new, more rigorous CMMC rule, which went into effect this week. Additionally, SNC’s industry-leading, DOD-recognized Security Program has received four DCSA Cogswell Awards for Security Excellence, placing SNC in the top 1% of federal contractors.

The CMMC framework, established by the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD), is designed to enhance protection of controlled unclassified information (CUI) across the Defense Industrial Base (DIB). CMMC, now required of all DIB contractors in order to conduct business with DOD, incorporates a comprehensive and scalable certification model that emphasizes the implementation of cybersecurity best practices. The stringent certification process ensures that defense contractors can safeguard sensitive data from cyber threats, which is critical for national security.

“As risks from the cyber domain become more advanced and more prevalent, the new CMMC rule is critical to ensuring that companies meet the most stringent and comprehensive cybersecurity posture,” said Robert Daugherty, SNC’s vice president of security and safety. “Achieving CMMC 2.0 Level 2 certification from the outset is a testament to SNC’s robust security culture and the team of steadfast security professionals who work tirelessly to keep our company and our nation safe.”

Recognizing the significant challenges that small and mid-sized defense contractors will face to comply with the new CMMC rule, SNC established SNC Defensible Security, a cloud-based, state-of-the-art SOC-as-a-Service for organizations seeking top-tier cybersecurity capabilities without the burden of managing an in-house SOC.

“Now, the team safeguarding SNC is the same team that can protect you,” said Dan Smith, SNC’s director of cybersecurity programs. “Defensible Security is a trusted partner in the fight against sophisticated hostile threat actors and the relentless attempts to breach networks to steal valuable intellectual property and sensitive customer data.”

SNC Defensible Security provides 24/7 monitoring, detection and response to security threats and vulnerabilities in an organization's IT infrastructure, networks, endpoints and applications. The U.S.-based Defensible Security team uses advanced tools and techniques to detect and respond to security incidents in real-time.
