SPARKS, Nev., November 08, 2021 – Global aerospace and national security company Sierra Nevada Corporation (SNC) will launch a scholarship program for women pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) on December 1, 2021. SNC will award numerous scholarships to women pursuing non-medical STEM-related majors annually.
This scholarship program is an opportunity to encourage women to pursue careers in an under-represented industry.
“I am very proud that SNC is investing in the next generation of women,” said Claudia La Fountain, leader of Inclusion, Diversity & Equity at SNC. “It is important for us to encourage and support women pursuing careers in STEM through conscious action. This scholarship and its connection to our Women's Employee Resource Group is a momentous step.”
SNC partnered with Scholarship America, the nation’s largest nonprofit, private scholarship organization to administer the scholarship. Completed applications must be submitted to Scholarship America between Monday, December 1, 2021 and Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. CDT.
