SNC Launches Cutting-Edge Technology Experience Center: The Grid

HERNDON, Va. (June 12, 2024) – SNC is raising the bar for technology experience centers with the recent launch of The Grid, a state-of-the-art, interactive facility located in Herndon, Virginia. The Grid offers a unique opportunity for SNC and its partners to showcase cutting-edge technology and advanced capabilities in a dynamic environment, allowing the user to virtually create and execute global mission sets.

The Grid's demonstration space is designed to integrate key products into global mission threads such as Force Protection, Counter-UAS, and Indications and Warning. With individual product demonstrations at the touch of a fingertip, visitors can experience the full range of SNC's high-TRL capabilities, including Multi-Domain Operations, Battlespace Awareness, Electronic Warfare (EW) and Spectrum Management, and CJADC2.

One of The Grid’s key features is its ability to showcase SNC's top technologies in both physical and 3D models. Guests can also explore the modularity of hardware, software, and integrated system-of-systems with the RAPCON-X™ jet fuselage 3D model. The Grid also demonstrates the power of SNC's top technologies through interactive VR/AR displays and traditional user interfaces.

Designed to walk the user through mission planning and capability integration, The Grid experience begins at the Command & Control Station where the user’s mission set starts to take shape via mission planning, EW processing and information dominance capabilities. Then progress to framing intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) capabilities within various platforms and finally, the user experiences data visualization with a traditional user interface and virtual reality station.

“The Grid is more than just a technology experience center; it's a testament to SNC's commitment to innovation and collaboration with its partners,” explained SNC Executive Vice President Tim Owings. Underscoring the reason for such an investment, Owings adds, “We are investing significantly in rebuilding proven technologies to be more modular, smaller SWAP, software-driven solutions. This allows us to add more capability and integrate SNC products with other SNC products, as well as with key partner technologies.”
