SNC Announces 2024 Women in Stem Scholarship Recipients

SPARKS, Nev., (May 16, 2024) – SNC, the global aerospace and national security company owned by Eren and Fatih Ozmen, is pleased to announce the 2024 recipients of the Women in STEM scholarship program for women pursuing careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Each of the five recipients will receive $7,500 to support her education.

“SNC’s scholarship program is designed to support and encourage the next generation of female leaders in STEM,” said Debora Meyer, senior vice president of human resources. “We extend our deep congratulations to the 2024 recipients. It’s an honor to support the next generation of scientists and innovators who will go on to achieve great things and make positive impacts in their communities and beyond.”

The following students have been awarded scholarships for the upcoming academic year:

  • Alanna Snyder of Thornton, CO will study Biomechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
  • Arisa Chue of Springfield, VA who is studying Computer Science at Stanford.
  • Lauren Bartel of Coral Gables, FL who is studying Integrative (Organismic and Evolutionary) Biology at Harvard.
  • Madison Barnett of Alexander City, AL who is studying Computer Engineering at the University of Alabama.
  • Olivia Knestaut of Wilmington, DE who is studying User Experience & Interaction Design at Drexel University.

This scholarship program is designed to encourage women to pursue careers in currently underrepresented fields and industries. Each of the students will be paired with a SNC mentor to provide professional and career guidance as they work toward their academic and professional goals.

SNC partnered with Scholarship America, the nation’s largest nonprofit, private scholarship organization to administer the scholarship. The next application window for the SNC Women in STEM scholarship will open in December 2024.
