Eren Ozmen Again Named Among Top 10 Most Successful Self-Made Women in America By Forbes

SPARKS, Nev. (June 5, 2024) – Eren Ozmen, owner and Chairwoman of SNC, was again named among America’s top ten Most Successful Self-Made Women by Forbes. The annual list highlights the country’s most successful self-made entrepreneurs, executives and entertainers, including icons like Diana Hendricks, Oprah Winfrey and Taylor Swift. Ozmen has been featured on the Forbes list since its inception in 2015. She is recognized by Forbes often, including in the inaugural Forbes 50 Over 50 list honoring extraordinary female leaders. Ozmen is also included in Forbes’ “Most Successful Couples” list with her husband Fatih Ozmen.

This year’s list of most successful self-made women represents nearly all sectors of the American economy — from healthcare and fashion to the food industry, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence.

“I hope my story, and the success stories of the many self-made women highlighted this year, will inspire and guide the next generation of female leaders to pursue their passions and dreams,” Ozmen said.  “I feel especially fortunate to be living my own true American Dream and am grateful for the many opportunities this country provides for female entrepreneurs.”

Ozmen and her husband Fatih acquired SNC in 1994 when it had fewer than 20 employees. Together, Eren and Fatih steered SNC to expand in new and promising directions, including 20 strategic mergers and acquisitions. Today, SNC is a global leader in Aerospace and Defense that provides innovative technologies and transformative solutions that safeguard freedom and offer connected protection across all domains.  

Most recently, SNC was awarded a $13B contract from the U.S. Air Force to design and deliver the next-gen Survivable Airborne Operations Center (SAOC) aircraft. This highly specialized aircraft is trusted by the President, Secretary of Defense and other high-level leaders to ensure government communication and control during national emergencies.

In addition to SNC, Eren owns a portfolio of tech companies focused on disruptive innovations that will have lasting impacts on humanity. In 2021, Eren and Fatih launched Sierra Space, an independent commercial space company, from SNC’s space capabilities. Leveraging breakthrough technologies including the Dream Chaser^® spaceplane and expandable LIFE™ habitat, Sierra Space builds and delivers the future of space transportation, destinations and infrastructure for LEO commercialization. Dream Chaser was recently delivered NASA’s Kennedy Space Center for final testing before its first launch later this year.

Ozmen’s vision for paying it forward to the next generation extends well beyond the walls of her companies. Now in its 3rd year, SNC offers an annual Women in STEM scholarship to support women pursuing STEM-related degrees. Ozmen also supports a variety of causes through the Ozmen foundation, including STEM initiatives and cancer-related medical research. She founded the Aerospace and Defense Academy, the Ozmen Center for Entrepreneurship and the Ozmen Institute for Global Studies at her alma mater, the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Ozmen also received an honorary doctorate from UNR in 2016.
